IPATS Privacy Policy
What is the purpose of IPATS?
It’s a basic SIP softphone for Android devices to make voice calls via Internet.
What data we collect? Why we collect it? What we do with your data?
Device Contact List: This app reads user’s contact list just to show it in the app in order to make it easy for the user to make a phone call to a specific contact. This app doesn’t send your contact list to any remote server or outside of your device.
Device call logs: This app reads user’s call logs just to show it in the app . This app doesn’t send your call logs to any remote server or outside of your device. It’s just stored in a database located in a private memory location on your phone and nowhere else.
Record Audio: This app needs to capture the user’s voice in order to make a bi-directional voice call, so the other person at the other end be able to hear the voice. So that’s why we need to use the device microphone. None of that audio data will be ever stored in any location and will be just transferred to the other person in the call.
Phone State: This app reads phone state to prevent any conflicts between SIP calls made by this app and ordinary calls made by the SIM-enabled device.
How secure is the collected data?
Device’s call logs will be stored in a private memory on the device that is only accessible by this app (According to what Android OS offers about private databases).
How can the user delete the collected data?
As soon as the user uninstalls this app, all of the collected data will be deleted from your device along with the app itself.
Conclusion:
Generally, this app doesn’t send any of the user’s private data to any remote location and it just sends appropriate signals to a specified SIP server when the user makes or receives a phone call, and it transfers the user’s voice as standard RTP packets to the other user in the call.
